Oneplus 3T - Trouble maker for expensive flagships

Oneplus is a bold company. People call Xiaomi the Apple of the East. Yes, I
agree because it lacked originality in the beginning and it makes amazing products at a great price but still the MIUI is very much IOS-inspired. As far as Oneplus is considered, it takes original moves.

Let us take a simple example - if it would have been Xiaomi launching Oneplus 3T, they would have rather called it Oneplus 3S, again an Apple-inspired nomenclature. But Oneplus takes bold moves. It makes highest standard products at Oneplus 3T retains all the flavours of Oneplus 3 with a little garnishing on the top. It has the same design, same weight and the reasonable pricing and sticks to the same target customers and promises regular updates. Xiaomi might not have even thought about bringing Mi 5S in India, but Oneplus is back with it latest offering.
- Oneplus 3T into the specs-sheet because you might already know the other Oneplus 3 specs.same dimensions, but with the newer Snapdragon 821 chipset, improved battery capacity of 3400 mAh, improved 16 MP front camera module and a variant with inmproved 128GB internal storage too. Other specifications remain the same and we will not go deeper But, trust me it is still a steal at this price. Extra battery capacity is what improves the overall usability of the device.
So, let us directly talk whether you should go for Oneplus 3T or upgrade over your current Oneplus 3. As far as buying a new device be much different that the earlier Snapdragon 820 in day to day usage. Still, newer is better! I would personally take the new is concerned you will have to pay 2000 rupees extra in order to get a 64GB variant of Oneplus 3T if you compare it with Oneplus 3.

Now, you can easily go through the day without being worried about the battery being depleted even if your smartphone remains in use. At the same time 16MP front camera can give very sharp details in your selfies. Yes, newer processor is a great addition, but it won't for most of the time.Oneplus 3T just because of its increased Battery Capacity. You can purchase the device from Amazon starting from December 14, 12.01 AM.
However, if you are using a Oneplus 3, there is no need to upgrade because the user experience won't be drastically different. Better, you can wait for a Oneplus 4 and feel proud using your Oneplus 3. It's still a beast. The higher end 128GB variant is still pricier at Rs.34,999 and anyone would agree by the fact that 64GB is enough even in extreme cases.

Check it out! Coolpad tipped to launch Coolpad Note 3S - Is it a worthy sucessor?

Coolpad was once a brand that disrupted the market with specs-loaded Note3. Not only the, it even launched Note 3 Lite which has 3GB of Ram at a pocket-friendly price of Rs.6999. After all this disruptive start, something happened. Something went wrong. It seemed like Coolpad had forgotten which segment of customers it has to target.
Trust me, a person in India will buy a Coolpad device only when there is no other option left and the person loves more specs at a much lesser price. Coolpad is nowhere a BRAND in India. It has negligible fan base. So, its strategy should be to make such devices which will at least be comparable to the other Chinese or Indian manufacturers out there.

Now, Coolpad has launched not one but two devices on the same day i.e, 30th November, 2016 in India. One of them is Coolpad Mega 3 and other one is Coolpad Note 3S. We will talk about them one by one and tell you whether they are good enough to be considered or not.

In this blog, we will talk about the note 3 successsor, Coolpad Note 3S which has been launched at Rs.9999 in India. I guess 'S' here is for successor, but is it a worthy successor to its predecessor or not? Well, let us find out.

Specifications:
Coolpad Note 3S specifications include a 5.5inch HD display, Snapdragon 415 chipset which is octa-core clocked at 1.36 GHz, 3GB RAM and the common 13&5MP camera combination. First of all, we will start this discussion with the design of the smartphone. It comes with a unibody design having a 5.5inch HD display with 2.5D curves at the edges which make the device comfortable to hold. But again, why the hell have they given that ugly black border around the display and that too so wide that it appears a civil engineer had designed the phone and he ended up making a ring road around the display. I personally hate this device just because of this reason which makes it look ugly and distracting. By the way, unibody structure comes with an expected hybrid sim card slot.

Now, you already know that we have a smartphone with Snapdragon 430 in the market selling for the same price with almost the same specifications. Obviously, there is a very little naming difference in between Snapdragon 415 and Snapdragon 430 and even a little lower clock speed can also be accepted but what makes Snapdragon 430 really powerful is its generation-ahead GPU. SD430 comes with Adreno 505 againt Adreno 405 in SD415 and it is really superior in terms of performance. This is the primary reason why Coolpad went with only an HD display because Adreno 405 will take a hit entertaining the extra amount of pixels. So, processing power remains below average in this device considering its price. And yes, I don't want to talk about Redmi Note 3 which comes at the same price with Snapdragon 650!

As far as RAM is cnsidered, 3GB of RAM is good for multitasking. It comes with 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded upto 32GB with a microSD card provided you sacrifice a sim card usability. There is also a fingerprint sensor which makes unlocking easier. The phone also supports 4G VOLTE which is a good thing. The device comes with Android 6.0 with Cool UI 8.0 on the top.
I will not go in the details of camera because it needs to be tested carefully before making any comments. But, it comes with a good 13MP camera module at the back and a nice 5MP sensor at the front. Photos should come out to be good in good light environment.
Now the last thing which will stop any potential customer from buying this device is its battery. Yes, in today's age, a 5.5inch phone which weighs close to 170gm comes with a 2500mAh of battery. Ridiculous! Can the makers not see the current market? Can't they see how far technology has come? A 5inch phone today can fit a mammoth 4000mAh of battery and still look good. Why Coolpad
came up with such a low-standard capacity battery inside? Well, only Coolpad knows! So, final review - consider other options in the market which gives you better value for money and a better overall usability. Coolpad Note 3S is not a device to be considered at this price.
Even then if you can't stop yourself from buying this device, it will be exclusively available on Amazon starting December 7th.

Coolpad Mega 3 - Mega from nowhere!

Coolpad was once a brand that disrupted the market with specs-loaded Note3. Not only that, it even launched Note 3 Lite which has 3GB of Ram at a pocket-friendly price of Rs.6999. After all this disruptive start, something happened. Something went wrong. It seemed like Coolpad had forgotten which segment of customers it has to target.

Trust me, a person in India will buy a Coolpad device only when there is no another option left and the person loves more specs at a much lesser price. Coolpad is nowhere a BRAND in India. It has a negligible fan base. So, its strategy should be to make such devices which will at least be comparable to the other Chinese or Indian manufacturers out there.

Now, Coolpad has launched not one but two devices on the same day i.e, 30th November 2016 in India. One of them is Coolpad Mega 3 and another one is Coolpad Note 3S. We will talk about them one by one and tell you whether they are good enough to be considered or not.

In this blog we will talk about the cheaper one - Coolpad Mega 3. It has been launched at a price of Rs.6999. It comes with a 5.5 inch HD display. Nothing special about this especially considering the fact that the wide black border around the display makes it look really UGLY. I would rather buy a good looking Windows phone than buying this ugly device.

Talking about the hardware, it has a 1.25GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor with Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 64GB with microSD. Now, as far as I remember, Coolpad had declared while launching their first device in India that they will always launch phones with not less than 3GB of RAM. Don't know what went wrong that they did not go by what they had declared. Don't even dare to throw heavy games on this device. I bet, you will be heavily disappointed.

Coolpad Mega 3 comes with an unusual 3 sim cards support which is not that practical in day-to-day usage. It might be helpful to the people who want.. don't know what they want! By the way, it comes with 4G VOLTE Support.

The front and rear camera are both 8MP units with the rear one having an autofocus. But, the Coolpad has always proved that it struggles in the photography department. Expect this device to give you a very average photography experience.

The smartphone comes with a 3000mAh battery which is average considering the fact that is heavy at over 170g. It also has USB OTG support.

Coolpad Mega 3 will be available exclusively on Amazon.in, as usual. The sale will start from 7th December and it will be available in three colors namely, Gold, Grey and White.

Now, the question is should you go for it? The answer is, if you really want 3 sim-cards in one phone, then only go for it. This device doesn't make sense because you have a really good device Redmi 3S which comes with Snapdragon 430 which is far superior in performance than MT673. Redmi 3S has a great battery, better Camera, better design (remember, we talked about that Black Border?), better Brand recognition in India, better resale value, far better GPU and better UI. You need more?

So, my suggestion would be to take this launched device with a pinch of salt and go for Redmi 3S. You will not regret.

Xiaomi Says It Sold Over 2 Million Smartphones in India in Q3 2016

Xiaomi claims that it has sold over the 2 million smartphones in India in the third-quarter of 2016. The great Chinese company revealed this news via a tweet. Xiaomi has also claimed that it has achieved over the 150% year-on-year growth from Q3 2015 to Q3 2016.

The figures claimed by Xiaomi company are very impressive considering that the third-quarter is still yet to get over. In October, the Xiaomi company sold 1 million of smartphone units in just within 18 days. This was announced by the CEO Lei Jun in an open letter to the employees.

A recent IDC report had also claimed that the Xiaomi RedMi Note 3 as well as the RedMi 3S series "fuelled the online shipments" to a very large extent for the Xiaomi company. The IDC report had claimed that Xiaomi for the first time made it to the topmost five smartphone vendors list based on the shipments. The research firm had also said that Xiaomi company grew over the 2.5 times over the same period last year.

Xiaomi company soon after its Diwali sale had announced that it has managed to sell half a million of smartphones in just within three days. The Redmi 3S considering along with Redmi 3S Prime, on the other hand, was also a top selling product on the India's gaint online e-commerce company Flipkart during its Big Billion Days Sale while the Redmi Note 3 was a best selling smartphone of the Amazon's Great Indian Festival sale.
Recently, Flipkart, which is one of the online retail partners of Xiaomi company , had claimed that it has managed to sell one million Redmi 3S as well as Redmi 3S Prime smartphones in India. Smartphone was launched in the country in the month of August this year, and was made available on both Mi.com and Flipkart online.

IS LENOVO K6 POWER A WORTHY COMPETITOR TO REDMI 3S

Undoubtedly,Redmi 3S is a winner in its category in the Indian Smartphone market today. It has got blushing looks, killer specs, mammoth battery and yes, an irresistible price. Xiaomi claimed that it has already sold over a million units of Redmi 3S in India.

But now, there is a new competitor to the Ruler. Lenovo is launching K6 Power in India on 29th of November exclusively on Flipkart. It has almost the same specs as Redmi 3S Prime but with some minor improvements.

Lenovo K6 Power comes with a 5-inch Full HD Display which is definitely better than the Redmi 3S which comes with an HD Display only but it will be a bit heavier on the battery. We will come to the battery part a little later in this post. But the overall viewing experience will certainly be better in the Lenovo K6 Power due to high pixel density.

Both the devices come equipped with a fingerprint sensor which is a good thing to see in this budget.

Lenovo K6 Power comes with the same Snapdragon 430 as present in its highest selling counterpart. Snapdragon 430 is a really powerful chipset in budget category and it exceeds the performance of Snapdragon 615 or 616 due to the presence of newer generation GPU, Adreno 505 and the same four 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 and four 1.5 GHz Cortex A53 64-bit configuration. So from the performance point of view, both the devices as comparable.

The camera is a department where budget devices really struggle but Redmi 3S holds well in at least good light situation. Lenovo K6 Power comes with a 13MP rear camera, same as Redmi 3S but an improved 8MP front shooter as compared to 5MP in 3S. So, you may expect the selfies to be a little better.

Now comes the battery. Battery capacity is almost the same in both the devices. But, expect Lenovo K6 Power to lag behind in the Screen-On-Time parameter due to the Full HD display which requires more juice to run as compared to the HD Display in the Redmi 3S.

Build quality is very much the same. You get a metal body but the good thing is that you get a dual speaker at the back in Lenovo K6 Power which comes equipped with Dolby sound system. So, K6 Power is definitely a multimedia powerhouse with great audio and a full HD display.

Overall, it depends on the pricing. If Lenovo prices its K6 Power under 10,000 INR, it will certainly challenge the Xiaomi's current best-seller because Lenovo has a better reach in terms of after-sales service as compared to the poor service of Xiaomi.

So, to Buy Lenovo K6 Power Login to Flipkart: on 29th November, 2016 at 3:00 PM if you have
decided to purchase the Lenovo K6 Power.

OPPO finally ups the Selfie Games with the launch of upgraded latest version of the F1s just at Rs 18,990

When it comes about smartphone photography, OPPO mobile has been one of the best catalysts that has lead the charge to offer good optics in the recent generation of devices. And, its phones offer very impressive selfie capabilities also. Its technologies like the beautify mode, which was first debuted on OPPO U701 Ulike, devices like the innovative N1 along with the rotatable camera hinge or the “selfie expert” the F1s, brand has always been at the forefront. OPPO company is now repeating the heat yet again, as it is one of the most popular smartphones in the OPPO’s arsenal, the F1s, now F1s has an upgraded version in order to deliver an even better experience to their users.

Smoother Performance With More Enhanced RAM

Its Metal Body With The New Colour
The premium metal body build and 0.22-second fast fingerprint scanner are here to hold, and we are not complaining. And why should we? This arrangement results (better) in much clearer, brighter & strikingly rich color photos. The Beautify mode in the OPPO F1s stands in version 4.0, and is based upon the study of hundreds of the user scenarios. With additional RAM & more storage that’s packed in the stylish package priced, but there is a little doubt that, is OPPO F1s an ideal smartphone for selfie lovers?

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

They're back, and as you might (and should) expect, they're better than ever: the 4.7" iPhone 7 and 5.5" iPhone 7 Plus. Though they don't look remarkably different on the outside, save the two new black colors and relocated antenna lines, Apple has made significant improvements in processing power, durability, display quality and cameras. Throw in iOS 10 (which is also available for several older generation iPhones), and you've got a fresh experience. The two new colors (or technically the absence of color) are matte black and jet black. The jet black model is super shiny and very pretty. It also shows fingerprints like a beer bottle in a pizza joint and scratches more easily than the other colors. It's still made of aluminum but uses a different anodization process that can show micro-abrasions. Surprisingly, it's a bit more sticky and grippy than the other finishes--usually shiny things are more rather than less slippery.
iPhone 7 Plus

Same as it ever was?
Some critics have complained that the new iPhone looks much like the two previous generation models-- the iPhone 6 and 6s. It's true, they are the refinement of that design, and as such the antenna lines have moved to the very edges so they don't run roughshod through the back of the phone, and the camera location and hump are a little bit different. Yes, there's still a hump and Apple would have to make the phone thicker to make it flush. We know Apple likes skinny, and I'm guessing they think customers like skinny too. The antenna lines on the black models are black, so they blend in. Why doesn't Apple use matching colors for the gold, rose gold and silver phones? It's a pigment vs. radio interference issues--believe it or not, pigments can affect RF.
The essential design is on its third year, and I too have been guilty of saying "ho-hum, where's that new every two year design." We've come to expect that since Apple's been creating new designs with every non- S release. Then I thought harder on the matter, and realized that this is still a very ergonomic and attractive design... and it looks really, really good in the new black options. It doesn't look like any other smartphone on the market. Do we want change simply for the sake of change? I suppose that's not unfair since the technology inside improves in small ways as the smartphone matures, and high end phones have become fashion statements. But I also want Apple to come up with something really good, something that excites me as much as the Leica-inspired iPhone 5 design that still lives on in the iPhone SE. I've worked in R&D departments, and it's not easy to come up with something that's iconic, ergonomically excellent, durable and practical. So I won't get huffy about a design that's actually still really lovely, but that doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the design reinvention that the iPhone 8 may bring.
On the design upside, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are water resistant and harder to bend. The display sizes and resolution remain the same, but Apple has updated their IPS panels with the higher DCI-P3 color gamut, a cinema standard that well exceeds sRGB. Reflectance is as ever very low, contrast is high, color calibration is near perfect and brightness on auto-brightness reaches 700 nits. DisplayMate, the display uber-scientific geeks rate it as the best mobile LCD they've ever tested.
iPhone 7 Plus

Definitely not the Same as it ever was
The home button is now solid state with no moving parts. That means no satisfying hardware move and click, and it means no more worn out home button switches (that switch was the only moving part in the iPhone). The new home button looks just like the old one, but the clicks are generated via haptics, or Apple's Taptic engine, as they call it. Just as with Force Touch, tactile feedback is via haptic vibration, and when the phone is on a desk, it does feel like the button is clicking. Hold the phone in your hand and you'll feel the whole phone vibrate a bit, so it's a little less convincing. It took me an hour to grow accustomed to it, no doubt due to iPhone muscle memory (I instantly adjusted to the HTC 10's haptic home button because I had no expectations or memory of something different). After a day I and others in our office grew to like it and prefer it over the old mechanical button. It still does the familiar things--double-tap to launch Apple Pay when the screen is off. Double-tap when the screen is on to multitask. Long press to bring up Siri, and triple press to turn the camera into a handy magnifying glass.
The fingerprint scanner is even faster, if you can imagine that. It's too fast if you just want to wake the phone to see notifications and the time. Thus Apple changed the sleep screen and added raise to wake. Pick up the phone and you'll see the notification screen, which we've seen on some Android phones from Moto and the Nexus 6P. Swipe sideways and you can launch the camera without unlocking the phone, swipe in the other direction and you'll see calendar entries and news items. Nice. So taking an impromptu photo or video is as simple as picking up the iPhone and swiping the screen. Good times.
iPhone 7

Faster than Other Phones (for Now)
Every year Apple churns out the fastest CPU, then Qualcomm or Samsung's Exynos answer with an even faster CPU for their high end models. The Snapdragon 820 was the winner a few months back, and now the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus thoroughly trounce it on benchmarks. Honestly, the silicon is now so fast, it's hard to say this even matters unless you're a fanboy of one platform or another. The Apple A10 Fusion CPU is clocked at 2.33 GHz and it's Apple's first quad core design (the Snapdragon 820 is also a quad core CPU with a similar two high power and two low power cores design). The new M10 motion coprocessor allows for features like raise to wake, as does the M9 used in the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and iPhone SE.
The iPhone 7 has 2 gigs of DDR4 RAM and the iPhone 7 Plus has 3 gigs. RAM is managed differently in iOS vs. Android, but Android fans will likely brag that they typically get 4 gigs of RAM in their high end phones. iPhone fans will brag that Apple's memory management means you need less RAM... the truth is somewhere in between. We haven't experienced lag in the new iPhones, nor have our Safari tabs manically reloaded due to RAM constraints. The experience is good. Doubtless, even more RAM would mean even more apps could stay loaded in memory, ever ready. That said, I haven't noticed much of a difference compared to the 12.9" iPad Pro with 4 gigs of RAM.
Storage capacities have doubled, so you have 32, 128 and 256 gig options, with each increment adding the usual $100 in price. Given the huge jumps in storage between price tiers, that doesn't feel like a rip-off like moving from 16 to 64 gigs last year.
